The Volkswagen Beetle is the automobile  best-selling of all time. It is built by the builder  German  Volkswagen and  its name means People's Car. 
Appeared in  1938 , it was designed by the Austrian engineer  Ferdinand Porsche  at the request of the Chancellor  Adolf Hitler , then head of the  Third Reich  German.
First a propaganda tool, it will become, after the war, famous throughout the world for its production in exceptional quantities,  as well as its longevity.
She exceeds, the 17  February  1972 , the world broadcast record previously held by the  Ford T. It was in total produced in more than 21,529,464 copies worldwide.
Because of the Second World War, it was only sold for the first time in 1946. 
La Coccinelle has become a real commercial success, partly due to its media coverage. She is the star of the studios  Walt Disney Pictures  in a whole series of five films, commonly known as "La Coccinelle".
In 1978, the last Beetle produced in Germany rolled off the lines in Emden on January 19. A total of 16,255,500 Beetle were manufactured in Germany. The rest of the production will take place in Mexico.
